W.S. BURKETT

Welcome W.S. to Books2Mention Magazine. We are happy to have this chance to get to know you.

Your first novel Chasin Satisfaction is an excellent book. Readers have been blown away with this amazing story. Congratulations to you on a job well done. We are eager to learn more about the man behind this intriguing novel.

B2M:  When did you start writing?

W.S. Burkett:  I started writing at the age of five. When I was in Head Start, my mother made me write a story for her everyday to learn my spelling. I never stopped.

B2M:  What encouraged you to take a chance and share your artistry with the world?

W.S. Burkett:  That was always my purpose. To one day be a published Author. Some people want to be Lawyers, Doctors or Policemen. I wanted to be an Author and I knew I'd eventually do it.

B2M:  Chasin Satisfaction offers a great plot. How did you come up with the concept for this incredible story?

W.S. Burkett:  I knew a couple in a similar situation. The woman was the breadwinner and more dominant than her male counterpart, so I used a composite of those two people and centered them in a story that would test their fidelity.

B2M:  When you completed Chasin Satisfaction, did you feel confident that it would be well received by readers?

W.S. Burkett:  It was a learning process and I learned a lot about myself. I know in the future I'll only get better because I'm dedicated to my craft. But this story was a good start and represents what I am as a writer. I'm the Jackie Collins type. So I like using hot locations and writing about people who have a lot to lose. The sex scenes aren't bad either. I knew it would be well received by those people that wanted to read a story that would take them away from the monotonous.

B2M: Your novel ended with so many unexpected surprises and a cliffhanger. I'm sure readers would like to know what happens to the character Julian Stevens. Can readers look forward to a sequel?

W.S. Burkett:  There will be a sequel. I intend for this book to be part of a trilogy. The sequel will be no joke. I can't wait to get started.

B2M:  What do you enjoy most about writing?

W.S. Burkett:  I love writing and I never know what I'm going to write when I open my laptop everyday. I just have an outline then I go with the flow. Sometimes I surprise myself with the direction my characters choose to take.

B2M:  How does it feel having your first novel in stores?

W.S. Burkett:  It feels great; I feel I've accomplished quite a bit. But I'm always focused on the next book and how I can get better.

B2M:  What knowledge have you learned about the industry that has been the most helpful to you?

W.S. Burkett:  I've learned that not everyone has your best interests at heart. And it's sad but it's also a business.

B2M:  Do you write daily?

W.S. Burkett:  I write two pages a day everyday. That keeps me fresh for the next day so I don't drain myself. That comes up to about three novels a year.

B2M:  Do you have a special place that allows you to tap into your creative energy?

W.S. Burkett:  I just like quiet, there's really no special place. It can be anywhere as long as I have peace.

B2M:  There are so many talented writers in the industry. What do you hope separates you from the rest?

W.S. Burkett:  I will only be myself, which will separate me from everyone because there's no one like me. As I grow as an artist my stories will have deeper meanings and affect people.

W.S. Burkett we look forward to reading more of your books that offers interesting plots that keeps readers hanging on every word.
